Zinc 15 mg with zinc bisglycinate

Zinc 15 mg from Vitals is a separate zinc supplement, without copper, in the form of an amino acid chelate (zinc bisglycinate). This compound form was chosen because its bioavailability is particularly good.

Advantages of amino acid chelates

The chelate structure in an amino acid chelate is strong enough not to be split under the influence of gastric juice or digestive enzymes, but also weak enough that the mineral element can be liberated once it has been taken up by the cells in the gut. The amino acids fold around the mineral element and protect it during the digestive process and do not let go like inorganically bound minerals.

How zinc works in the body

Zinc is present in all body tissues and is mainly concentrated in the cell nucleus. The mineral is essential for the activity of more than 300 enzymes. In addition, it is an important structural component of proteins and cell membranes.

Zinc plays a role in many processes in the body in these ways, including the process of cell division and hormone balance. Zinc is also involved in the normal construction and breakdown of carbohydrates, fats, proteins and DNA.
