Vitamin B12 1000 mcg (capsule)
Vitamin B12 with methylcobalamin is just like cyanocobalamin a form of vitamin B12. The big difference, however, is that the methyl form is the active form as it is needed by the body. It no longer needs to be activated and remains in the body longer. This form is also better stored by the body.
Vitamin B12 plays a role in cellular metabolism, especially in the gastrointestinal tract, bone marrow and nervous tissue.
Elderly people absorb vitamin B12 better from a supplement than from food. People who eat vegetarian have a greater chance of a vitamin B12 deficiency.
