The original Cordyceps
The Cordyceps sinensis, as it has been used for centuries in the Far East, grows in Nepal at an altitude of more than 3000 meters. Because Cordyceps only thrives well at this altitude under natural conditions, this mushroom is very rare.
Cordyceps-MRL™ is produced in the United States by a producer capable of cultivating this mushroom for use in a dietary supplement. The cultivation takes place under strictly controlled conditions, so that both the mycelium and the young fruiting body of the mushroom develop. Sterile, organically grown rice is used as nutrient medium, which ensures an end product that is free of contaminants and unwanted micro-organisms.
The basic culture that the producer assumes with every cultivation of Cordyceps-MRL™ actually comes from the Nepalese highlands, so that Cordyceps has biologically similar properties to the original wild mushroom.
As a final step in the production process, the Cordyceps is dried at a low temperature and ground into a powder. The low temperature is necessary to preserve the natural properties of the phytonutrients present, which would be lost at too high a temperature. There is deliberately not standardization on a specific ingredient because in the case of Cordyceps the entire complex of nutrients is important.
