The Mediterranean climate with its many hours of sunshine provides fruits (citrus, olives) that are rich in polyphenols.

Olives contain the polyphenol hydroxytyrosol, which helps protect blood fats (such as cholesterol) from oxidative damage.

Berberine (an extract from the plant Berberis aristata) provides broad support for cardiovascular health.
