N-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG) is an amino saccharide synthesized from glucose and the amino acid L-glutamine. NAG is a precursor to hyaluronic acid.

Because N-acetyl d-glucosamine is readily soluble in water, it is often used by people who make their own cream.
