Vitamin E is not a single substance, but in nature and in our diet, it consists of four tocopherols and four tocotrienols (tocopherols and tocotrienols in English). This is also called the vitamin E complex.
Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta
D-alpha-tocopherol and gamma-tocopherol are the best known. The other major vitamin E forms are beta-tocopherol, delta-tocopherol, alpha-tocotrienol, beta-tocotrienol, gamma-tocotrienol and delta-tocotrienol.
Avoid Supermarket, Chemist, Pharmacy
As well as most health stores. Because almost all vitamin E supplements in supermarket, drugstore, pharmacy and health store contain only D-alpha-tocopherol. While this is a natural form, it still doesn't have much to do with natural.
We too have this single D-alpha tocopherol in our range. But the use of a tocopherol complex (all four tocopherols) or a tocopherol+tocotrienol complex (all four tocopherols plus all four tocotrienols) is so much better that there are no situations in which a simple D-alpha tocopherol is recommended over these newer forms.
Tocopherol is the most natural form of D-alpha tocopherol.
It is the very combination of all these different natural vitamin E forms that makes it such an effective antioxidant.
