Pycnogenol, or pine bark extract, contains several flavonoids and oligomeric proanthocyanidins (proanthocyanidins). The most important and powerful are the OPC's. OPC is mainly found in pine bark and grape seed extract.
This natural extract has strong antioxidant activity. It is good for blood vessels and for unsightly veins*, among other things.
Pycnogenol is one of the most powerful Antioxidants
Pycnogenol is the name of the patented and standardized pine bark extract (Pinus pinaster / French maritime pine bark extract). Sourced from the largest planted natural park in Europe, Les Landes de Gascogne in France.
Also supports other Antioxidants
Pycnogenol itself is one of the strongest antioxidants, but in addition, it also supports the activity and recycling of other antioxidants such as vitamin C and vitamin E.
Blood circulation and blood vessels
Pycnogenol has a positive effect on the synthesis of nitric oxide (NO), which is involved in maintaining healthy and strong vascular walls, both veins and capillaries.*
This supports blood circulation and microcirculation. It also has application in cases of disfiguring veins.
Dosage: 30 mg, 100 mg, 200 mg, 400 mg
Pycnogenol is available in many different dosages: 30 mg, 40 mg, 60 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg, 200 mg and even 400 mg.
For all purposes, the highest dosage is the best. But this one, on the other hand, also costs the most. Therefore, there are also lower doses that are more economical to use.
It is a very safe supplement and can be used for long periods of time. Even in doses much higher than 200 mg per day, pycnogenol is completely safe.
Product from Swiss Horphag
Pycnogenol was developed by the Swiss company Horphag. All Pycnogenol is produced by Horphag and then marketed by many other companies.
However, prices vary widely. The most inexpensive are the Healthy Origins and VitaFarma Pycnogenol found on this page.
