What is L-Glutamine?

L-glutamine is one of the twenty fundamental amino acids that serve as building blocks for the production of proteins in our bodies. It is the amino acid most abundant in our bodies.

Our body makes Glutamine in muscles, liver, fatty tissue and brain. Because it does not always manage to make enough glutamine itself, it is also called a semi-essential amino acid.

L-glutamine is a colorless and odorless solid that is moderately soluble in water.

Food sources of L-Glutamine

L-Glutamine is abundantly present in food of animal origin: meat, fish, dairy and eggs.

If you want to get glutamine from a vegetable source, lentils, chickpeas, beans and to a lesser extent spinach, beets and cabbage are an option.
