What is Ginger?

ginger

Ginger originally comes from Asia and has been used as a flavor enhancer for centuries. It has a long history as a medicinal herb. Various scientific studies have shown that ginger is beneficial for digestion and the immune system. It also supports the normal functioning of the stomach, heart, and blood vessels.

What is Ginger For?

The effects of ginger are supported by various scientific studies. It offers a range of health benefits, although we are unfortunately not allowed to mention them all due to strict regulations on health claims.

How Much Ginger Per Day?

Our capsules, containing ginger as the sole ingredient, offer dosages ranging from 500 mg of ginger by Solgar, which is also the highest dose, to 270 mg of ginger root by the brand Mattisson. The supplement from Solgar stands out the most, as it uses both a concentrated extract and the powder of the ginger root.

The supplements from Viridian and Royal Green, both organic, as well as Mattisson, are all comparable, with the only difference being the dosage. They are only available in capsule form, including in formula products. Ginger tablets are not available from us.

Mechanism

Ginger is rich in active compounds. The active ingredients are primarily found in the rhizome. Gingerols, shogaols, and paradols are the main bioactive compounds in ginger. These substances are largely responsible for the beneficial effects of ginger.

Side Effects

While ginger offers health benefits, it is also important to be aware of some side effects. People who use blood thinners should note that using ginger may increase the risk of bleeding.

If you are pregnant and considering using it for nausea, the advice is to avoid high dosages and consult your healthcare professional before purchasing.

A potential drawback is that it may not always be a pure supplement. For this reason, it is preferable to use an organic supplement or one from a reputable brand, such as those available in our assortment.

Although rare, some people experience heart palpitations or an allergic reaction, although it is unclear if ginger is the actual cause. The advice is to stick to the recommended dosage.

Finally, it is worth emphasizing that ginger is very safe, provided you adhere to the recommended dose.
