What is copper?

Copper is an essential mineral that we should get enough of daily. Forms such as copper gluconate and copper citrate are less well absorbed. In contrast, the form Thorne and Solgar both use, copper bisglycinate from Albion, is highly absorbable.

Copper (symbol: Cu, atomic number: 29) is chemically a transition metal but in nutrition it falls under the minerals.

What does Copper do?

Copper protects cells from oxidative damage (free radicals), is good for the skeleton, has a positive effect on the immune system and contributes to the maintenance of normal vision.

Many times the amount of Copper in multivitamins is sufficient and no additional copper needs to be used in addition to it.

Use together with:

Copper is usually best used together with zinc.
