The specific anthocyanins from Bilberry (and not Blueberry) are among the most powerful flavonoids (a group of natural compounds in the polyphenol family). Most well known is their effect on the eyes. They contribute to normal eye function and support strong small blood vessels.
Blueberry or Blueberry: What's the difference?
Bilberry and Blueberry are two very different berries, although they are very similar. Bilberry in Dutch is (blue) blueberry. Blueberry is blueberry (without the "forest," that is). Bilberry contains about 6 times as many anthocyanins as the blueberry we know from the supermarket.
Anthocyanins are also often called anthocyanosides. Both names refer to the same substance from Bilberry.
Patented Mirtoselect® extract
Mirtoselect® from Italy's Indena is one of the best bilberry extracts. It contains a high concentration of the important anthocyanins.
These are specific polyphenols that have a positive effect on the blood vessels and especially the small blood vessels in the eyes.
Tip
Use bilberry in combination with Astaxanthin, Lutein + Zeaxanthin and Pycnogenol.
Bilberry is good for*:
- Eyesight
- Blood vessels
