Mechanism of action

Side effects
Artichoke is very healthy and has never led to dangerous side effects with normal use.
But people with a known allergy to other plants in the Asteraceae family, such as daisies, sunflowers, and chrysanthemums, may be at a higher risk of an allergic reaction to artichoke.
Taking very large amounts of artichoke can also lead to stomach complaints, such as bloating, gas, or diarrhea in some people. This is because artichoke contains inulin, an admittedly healthy soluble dietary fiber, but which in some cases can lead to these mild side effects if the intake is too high.
